A rental company has agreed to pay $1.65 million to five UC Santa Barbara students who were hurt when a fraternity deck collapsed in 2013. A lawsuit filed by the victims claimed that Wolfe & Associates failed to act on a report of termites, dry rot, and other structural problems in the fraternity building that it managed, leading to the collapse of the deck during a fraternity party. While no one was killed in the collapse, injuries included a torn ACL, a fractured leg, and a fractured pelvis.
