A four-hour session scheduled for October 5 is designed to teach home inspectors how to assess decks using the Deck Evaluation checklist developed by NADRA, the North American Deck and Railing Association. The checklist was developed specifically for home inspectors.
Inspectors who take the class will learn how to analyze stairs, footings, posts, joists, joist connections, girders, ledger connections, deck boards, and handrails--in other words, every component of a deck. The class also covers fasteners, hardware, and safety standards.
That class is just one of a number of educational and networking opportunities at the show, which has events scheduled from October 3 through 7 at the Baltimore Convention Center. For more information on registration and schedules, use this link.
What had been the Remodeling Show & Deck Expo was combined with JLC LIVE in 2014 to create an event for the entire residential-construction community, according to organizers.
