A deck builder in Detroit was looking for a convenient place to dump decking materials from a teardown. He chose the Brightmore community, long used as a refuse dumping zone, but he wasn't counting on a group of neighborhood activists who'd had enough. The deck builder was spotted dropping off old decking, framing, and railing, and a group of local citizens calling themselves the "Motor City blight busters" decided to fight back.
