I installed Premier railing three years ago in cedar color. I wanted the best warranty AND the best product. It sure looked nice up until this spring.
Guess what?
ALL post sleeves are cracked. ALL top rails are cracked. Some bottom rails are cracked. Some balusters are cracked. This was installed in Vermont but the product was developed in Canada and we had a really mild winter so they can't blame this on cold weather.
This is not an isolated event - see the Journal of Light Construction blog on the subject. I have contacted Azek for replacement but they have indicated they will not cover labor. PLEASE POST IF YOU ARE AWARE OF SIMILAR DEFECTS ON THIS PRODUCT or if you did and were reimbursed for labor. I am also wondering if trex railing holds up better.

Wow .. is that the old Premier decking also, I forget the name of it,.. Oh my, is it really that moldy. I wonder what is going on with that deck. Maybe it might need to be cleaned!

Most all manufactures will not cover labor in their warranties. The exception is GAF/Correct Deck CX

Bayn, the decking is trex and that is not mold. We had our house reroofed with architectural shingles. Some of the granules came of in a rain storm (we were told that is normal) and we did not clean off the granules/pebbles for a week not realizing we should have done it right away. The tar on the granules really bonds with composite deck and after awhile the small dots spread out. If we really use hot water and intense scrubbing with a brush, after awhile it does come off but we haven't gotten to that section of deck yet. My only issue is with the railing but people should know that if they reroof, they have to clean up their decks immediately.
