Hello,
I am trying to bid a job where the owner would like for us to replace his original deck that is approx. 15 feet high. The posts come down onto a patio below and go through the patio slab. So the patio slab is like one giant footing for six posts.
My question is what are my options when replacing them and how do I tackle the existing slab?
Do I have to cut them out and then chip away at the concrete and the put in new concrete that does not match the patio?
Do I cut them out and then put a new footing on top of the patio?
Do I talk him into extending his deck two feet out so that the new posts and footing will be set in the bare yard?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Jack
