When homeowners think about taking on a yard upgrade project, 90% of them are anticipating a major makeover, according to the 2016 U.S. Houzz Landscaping Trends Survey. Among the reasons for an overhaul are drainage problems (in 34% of the cases) and a lack of privacy (27%). The survey includes insights from nearly 1,000 U.S. homeowners who use the website. Planned yard projects were aimed at improving beds and borders and structural elements, and more than half the respondents said they would be looking for help from a landscape contractor, architect, or designer.
