DekTek’s reinforced concrete tiles are only 1 inch thick, but each can support more than a half-ton of weight, according to the manufacturer. The low-maintenance, weather-resistant, and noncombustible tiles are set with construction adhesive directly on 16-inch-on-center framing, with joints left groutless for drainage. Because the tiles are the same thickness as standard decking, they can be integrated with it to form borders or other designs. They’re available in six colors, including a mixed “Tuscan Medley” pattern, and the company said it welcomes custom color schemes. Tiles are guaranteed for 10 years (must be treated with a concrete sealer) and cost between $11 and $15 per square foot. DekTek, 218.380.9330,
